Design guidelines

We recommend using our templates and guides for preparing your print-ready PDF.

You can download our guides and templates in the template section. Remember to delete the template layers before exporting your design to PDF.

If you already have a design, no worries; we accept other file formats, including JPEG, PNG, or EPS.

For photographic content, high-resolution JPEGs are recommended, preferably without compression. For graphics or text-based content, we recommend print-ready, vector-based PDFs. For content that is a combination of graphics and photography, we suggest using print-ready PDFs to ensure the best quality.

Use CMYK as the colour mode.

Prepare your files using CMYK as the colour mode, not RGB. Use colourmode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are unsure of the colour mode of your file, don't worry we can always convert this for you. Keep in mind this can cause the colours to differ from the original file.

White printing

As standard, white is not printed on transparent stickers. Your design will be translucent and semi see-through. White areas in your design will be transparent.
If you choose full colour print with white, you will need to submit your design as a vector file. The colours in your design will be more vivid.
If you choose white only printing, you will need to submit your artwork as a vector file.

Resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Make sure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 300 dpi.

Add 5 mm bleed and keep 3 mm safety margin

During production, there might be a slight cut deviation. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following:

Add a 5 mm bleed around all edges of your design.
Keep important elements 3 mm away from the edge or folding lines.
Avoid using borders or frames on smaller formats like labels or business cards.

Text and fonts specifications (Min. font size is 6 pt)

For this product, the minimum font size is 6 pt. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following:

Fonts must be embedded or outlined.
If your design contains small black text, make sure it is 100 % black (Cyan: 0 Magenta: 0 Yellow: 0 Black: 100).

Note that we don't check spelling or typographical errors.

Check line thickness.

Lines should be at least 0.25 pt. Negative lines should be at least 0.5 pt.

Check your artwork for overprint.

Make sure no elements in your artwork are set on overprint unless you want this effect in your design. You can read more about overprint in our Help Centre.

FAQ

What is this product? And what can I use it for?

The labels are comparable to stickers. The difference being that labels are produced on a roll and not as separate stickers, making them easier to dispense and utilise. Labels on a roll are often used when you need to label different items in a short period of time.

Can Labels on Roll be used outdoors?

Not all types of stickers can be used outside. If you would like to use your stickers outside, we would recommend using 90gsm PVC white or transparent stickers. The lifetime of these stickers is affected by use outside. Other materials can only be used inside.

How many labels fit in a box/dispenser?

This depends on the size of the labels. The larger the labels, the fewer the labels per roll! We cannot calculate the exact amount of stickers on one roll.

What is the inner diameter of the roll?

The inner diameter depends on the length of the roll ordered. For rolls longer than a 100m, the inner diameter is 76mm. However, for rolls shorter than a 100m, the inner diameter is 40mm.

For reference, the below specifications will be delivered on a roll longer than 100m with a diameter of 76mm:
- 10 to 40mm labels with an order quantity above 2000 labels
- 40-75mm labels with an order quantity about 250
- 75mm+ labels with orders above 200

Any quantities below the ones mentioned above, will be delivered on a roll less than 100m with a diameter of 40mm.

What is cutting deviation?

Labels on Roll are printed on large sheets, which are then cropped to the final size. To maximize efficiency, the sheets are stacked and cut in large quantities at the same time. It is possible that the stack of paper shifts slightly, resulting in a cutting deviation. In order to limit the possibility of this, please pay attention to the bleed and safety margins when submitting your artwork.

What is NatureFlex material?

NatureFlex is an eco-friendly alternative to plastic. It's completely biodegradable, designed to be kind to the environment and perfect for a wide range of indoor applications! Made from cellulose, a component that exists naturally in plant fibres, NatureFlex has all the desired qualities of plastic. Additionally, it utilises Biotak - a sustainable and biodegradable adhesive.

Can I include a frame or border in my design?

We strongly advise against including a frame or border in your design, as minor cutting deviation could cause this to appear off-centre once printed.

Which carriers are used for delivery?

We employ multiple carriers for delivery, with UPS or DPD being our top choices for the highest reliability in most cases. The carriers are used based on specific product criteria, such as size, turnaround, and quantity.
